Change of plan because the roads are affected by the recent heavy rains. We are getting a helicopter to Lukla.

Lovely birds eye views of the Nepalese countryside .

And as we approached Lukla, superb views of the high peaks including Everest. But I don’t think this isn’t it.

Time for morning tea and a chance to look around Lukla.
The trek begins…

Amazing views and downhill all the way…

to lunch. We all have big plates of noodles or rice. A big lunch before three hours of afternoon uphill walking – a good idea, right?
Uphill walking begins. And even at “only” 2300m we felt it.

At least we weren’t working as hard as the locals.

From this point we could see all the way back to our lunch stop…

Somewhere down there.
So we finished the day nearly having regained the same altitude as Lukla at about 2800m.
