In the morning, after a good night’s sleep, we realize what an incredible location we’d spent the night.

Here is our first view of Mera Peak. The central top of the three peaks.
Even the room looks nicer in the daylight with it’s lovely painted door.

The high summits really are stunning, but we’re not going that way. Not yet.

First we go down.

Right down to the bottom of the valley, about 1000m, where there is a reassuringly sturdy suspension bridge to get us across the river..

Very long and very high above a raging torrent. Don’t drop your phone!.
Then up the other side, 1000m in the heat of the day.

And up.

Finally reaching out accommodation in time for a late lunch

We have an afternoon off. There are hot showers, which means you get a bucket of hot water to splash over yourself.
There is no internet, no phone signal.
The only entertainment is a group of loud Norwegians sharing our teahouse, Sadly, though it’s very funny, we can’t understand what they’re saying except when they talk to their guide.
