Leaving our accommodation in the sunshine at 3600m.

Our path goes up and up to the col in the centre.

Up and up. A very steep path. Hard work with oxygen now at 2/3 what it at sea level (13% vs 20%).

And on up…

…to the pass at 4200m, where the views south are impressive.

Unfortunately the clouds are closing in early.

Off we go, bit higher today, then down. We are in the high valleys but could easily be in Scotland!

We arrive at our accommodation for a late lunch, huddling in with all our gear on. The stove hasn’t been lit yet.

For afternoon entertainment, a short stroll up the valley, with a hint of greater things higher up above us.

In the evening, we have the stove on and are cosy. The guides have their spot next to the heat.

It is our first night above 4000m. First proper test of the sleeping bags.
ps. The Norwegians are still with us!
